Online Learning

Watching one of the Online ProgrammesThanks to the kind suggestion of Fr John Murphy sm I had the good fortune to meet Fr Merv Duffy sm here in Auckland and discuss the various online learning programmes he is developing. Merv is Dean of Studies at the Good Shepherd Theological College in Auckland. Students at the College benefit from the variety of online courses offered by the College.  Merv develops many of these courses, all on which employ the software programme Moodle.  As Marists, we are looking at developing online programmes to give more people the opportunity to study Marist Spirituality and the place charism plays in our teaching programmes. Our newly developed programmes will need to be accredited by one or more Universities. Programmes written by staff at the Catholic Theological College in New Zealand are accredited by the Sydney College of Divinity. Further information about moodle can be obtained from http://moodle.org
