United Nations - Rights of Children

Jim’s presentation was a really positive opportunity to gain an initial understanding of the fact that the Declaration of the Human Rights was signed so long ago that the UN felt it important enough to ratify the convention of the Rights of Children. It is a little disturbing that although most countries have signed the convention two of the optional protocols relating to children the military and children I  slavery or prostitution still exist as a massive problem in the 21st century and that many countries have not yet adopted these protocols. So basically there is still some further important work to be done for the innocent and the voiceless.
