Papal Audience

Pope Benedict XVIThe Capitulants of each General Chapter appreciate the opportunity to visit the Pope sometime during the Chapter. For us, this took place on Wednesday, 7th October, 2009 as we shared in the excitement of the thousands of people attending the weekly Papal Audience. We were fortunate to be sitting relatively near the Pope.  As the Pope concluded the audience, he moved across to speak with some special guests, including Br Emili Turu, our Superior General.  Emili informed the Chapter Capitulants later, that the Pope told him he has a very high regard for the Marist Brothers' Congregation. Before he was elected Pope, he worked with a Marist Brother in the Confraternity for the Doctrine and Faith.  The Pope sent his special blessings to all Marist Brothers.
